Event Date: Saturday May 12, 2012 - 8 a.m.

Place: Winfrey Point - White Rock Lake - Dallas, Texas

The First Annual Five and Dime Run:
This will be an American Run! The first question we pose is why are all our running distance events measured in kilometers? This is un-American. In no other place do we use kilometers for measurement. The Five and Dime Run will run real miles! This will be a five and a ten mile run. We also will remember the good old days when there were no dollar stores. We had the five and dime store. So we plan a great party afterwards with an oldies music and good old fashioned fun!

The Five and Dime Run Finisher Medals and age group awards:
This is your chance to get your first finisher medal for running either a five mile or ten mile run! Everyone finishing in either distance gets a medal designed like our Five and Dime logo. We will have Five and Dime Awards in both distances for the top male and female overall and masters finisher plus the top three in the following age groups: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+.

T-shirtapalooza at the 5 and Dime!
Over the last year we have printed more shirts than we needed at our Mellew events. They are taking space in our warehouse. So at the Five and Dime we will be passing out these shirts free.

Oldies Rock Band RetroActive at 5 & Dime!
RetroActive will be playing between 9am and 11:30am inside Winfrey Point for all to enjoy! Retroactive is a classic rock band made up of seasoned performers who have been successful in the music business for many years and decided to form a good-time listening band for all their fans in North Texas. ChronoTrack Timing at The Five and Dime Run:
The Five and Dime Run will use ChronoTrack timing system, which records your time precisely from start to finish. ChronoTrack is the latest timing technology. Your timing tag is now disposable and will come with your bib number when you get your race packet. No more lining up to get your timing chip race morning, and no waiting to have your timing chip retrieved at the finish line! Age group awards will be based on chip time. Overall awards will be based on gun time.

The Five and Dime Old fashioned party!
We will be rocking the lake afterwards with live music, food and libations!
